Privacy Policy

No accounts, no tracking, no ads, no selling data. Photos you enhance are processed securely and automatically deleted from our servers within 30 days. Your enhanced photos live on your device.

• Photos you choose to enhance — uploaded over an encrypted connection solely to run the enhancement, stored temporarily, and automatically deleted from our servers within 30 days. We never use your photos to train AI models, and no human reviews them.

• An anonymous device identifier — a random ID created on your device, used only to track your enhance credits. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or any other identity.

• Purchase records — payments are processed entirely by Apple. We receive only an anonymous confirmation that a purchase occurred so we can grant your credits. We never see your payment details.

• No user accounts, emails, or phone numbers collected.

• No advertising, no analytics trackers, no data brokers.

• No selling, renting, or sharing of your data with third parties for marketing.

• No AI training on your photos.

Some photos you choose to enhance may contain human faces. When that happens, Clara’s AI runs a face-restoration step that rebuilds detail in blurry, old, or damaged faces so the photo looks clearer. This works only on the image (the pixels) of the specific photo you selected.

Clara does not collect or create biometric face data. It does not perform facial recognition, does not identify or verify who a person is, does not match faces against any database, and does not generate or store any faceprint, face template, face geometry, or other biometric identifier. It does not use Face ID, the TrueDepth camera, ARKit face tracking, or any face-detection framework on your device. The face restoration is used solely to improve the photo you asked us to enhance — never to identify anyone, never to train AI models, and never reviewed by a human. Like all photos, any photo containing a face is processed transiently and automatically deleted from our servers within 30 days (see “Data deletion” below).

To provide the enhancement service, photos are processed by our cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services, US region) and by one third-party AI inference provider, fal.ai, which runs the open-source CodeFormer (face restoration) and Real-ESRGAN (upscaling) image models on our behalf. These providers act as our service providers under strict data-processing terms: they process the photo transiently only to perform the enhancement you requested, do not retain it beyond the processing window described above, do not use it to train models, and do not use it for their own purposes. No other personal data is sent to any AI provider. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone for advertising or marketing, and we do not use data brokers.

Server-side copies of photos are deleted automatically within 30 days. You can also use Settings → Delete my data in the app at any time to remove enhanced photos stored on your device. Your purchased credits are retained so you don’t lose what you paid for.

Clara is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
